hi to everyone,
What is faster an oracle or sql2000?
Thanks... :Ddepends on who is running the benchmark
sounds like i'm kidding, but i'm not
you will just have to test them yourself|||It's like asking which is faster between Barichello or Schumacher Ferrari ? :o|||No contest SQL Server is much faster than either Barichello or Schumacher Ferrari.|||but none of them is as fast as oracle on the open water between australia and tasmania|||Will depend on who's designing/implementing the system.
I suspect Oracle is more forgiving so if you are a total beginner your code is more likely to work reasonably on Oracle but it's less user friendly so you are less likely to get anything running (and maybe that's a good thing. You will get things running that appear to work on sql server but hit problems later.
If you have experience then the system then you will implement a faster solution on the database you have most experience of.
Don't think any differences in the databases will overcome that.
